Imagine a world where Taylor Swift isn’t a global music icon, but an interior decorator and designer. Instead of releasing albums, she unveils new home collections, each one a reflection of a different era, mood, and story. What would these designs look like?

In this post, I reimagine Taylor Swift’s albums as interior spaces, taking inspiration purely from their cover art. By focusing on the visuals, colors, textures, patterns, and overall mood, I explore how each album’s imagery could set the tone for a unique interior style. After all, album covers are often the first thing we see before pressing play, setting the emotional stage for the music inside.

From coastal escapes to bold Art Deco lounges, romantic Victorian chambers to glamorous Hollywood Regency rooms, each album becomes more than music, it transforms into a living, breathing space.

Here’s my breakdown of Taylor’s albums, reimagined through the lens of interior design!

Taylor Swift (2006)

Taylor’s debut album cover features a mix of blues and greens with delicate patterns of butterflies and what appears to be smoke. The overall vibe hints at a connection with nature. Taylor’s signature curly blonde hair dominating the image reminds us of the beach, suggesting that a coastal style would be perfect for this design.

To bring this vision to life, we’d focus on a palette of greens, blues, and whites. Incorporating these colors into a coastal-style living room would create a serene, earthy space. Blue and white would serve as the primary colors, while green accents, perhaps in the form of plants, would add that essential earthy feel. Considering all the details explained above, this is how the space could look like:

Fearless (2008)

Next up is Fearless, with a cover that feels warm and inviting, yet powerful. The color scheme includes rich browns and golden hues, exuding a sense of luxury. This suggests a contemporary, high-end design with warm elements and golden accents.

For a Fearless-inspired room, we’d use wood, warm lighting, and neutral tones that allow the gold accents to shine. The result? A luxurious living room that captures the bold yet sophisticated essence of this album cover just like the space below:

Speak Now (2010)

The Speak Now album cover is dominated by a striking purple gown, a color not always easy to incorporate into everyday decor. However, by drawing inspiration from the Art Deco style, known for its rich colors and bold geometry, we can create a space that balances elegance with modernity.

ree

The purple would serve as the main accent color, softened with white and highlighted by curvy, Art Deco-inspired furniture. The result would be an elegant space with a touch of drama, perfectly embodying the spirit of Speak Now, see inspiration below:

Red (2012)

The Red album cover is simple yet evocative, with a cozy atmosphere punctuated by pops of red. This balance between warmth and boldness is reminiscent of the boho-chic style, where comfort meets character.

ree

In a Red-inspired room, we’d combine light browns, whites, and red accents to create a space that feels both cozy and invigorating. Think of it as a room where you can relax, but with enough energy to keep your spirits up much like the songs on this iconic album. And the space will look something similar like this:

1989 (2014)

The 1989 cover, with its light purple tones and seagull motifs, hints at a timeless, classic style with a touch of coastal inspiration. However, the overall feel is more cozy and introspective, leaning towards a French country style.

ree

For a room inspired by 1989, we’d use a soft palette of light purples, whites, and browns, creating a space that feels both timeless and inviting. This design would feature vintage details with a modern twist, reflecting the nostalgic yet contemporary vibe of the album, similar to the example shown below:

ree

Reputation (2017)

The Reputation album cover is stark and minimalist, with bold white spaces and a monochrome palette. This naturally points us towards a minimalist interior design, where simplicity and clean lines take center stage.

ree

In a Reputation-themed room, the focus would be on creating a minimalist space with sharp contrasts and thoughtful use of white space. This design would capture the album’s powerful simplicity, making a bold statement without overwhelming the senses. And the results would be closer to the example below:

Lover (2019)

Lover brings us into a world of color and joy, with a cover that bursts with pinks, blues, and other vibrant hues. This playful palette aligns perfectly with the emerging trend of Dopamine Décor, where bright colors and unexpected combinations create a fun, lively space.

ree

A Lover-inspired room would embrace this trend, using a mix of vibrant colors to create a cheerful and harmonious environment. The goal is to design a space that feels fresh and energizing, much like the album itself, having a result similar to the photo below:

ree

Folklore (2020)

The Folklore album cover is muted and introspective, with shades of gray and a focus on nature. This subdued color scheme and the sense of being surrounded by massive trees evoke a feeling of peace and humility, making Brutalism the ideal style for this design.

ree

A Folklore-inspired room would feature double-height ceilings, natural light, and the raw texture of concrete. The goal is to create a space that feels both expansive and intimate, much like the forest imagery on the album cover. All this considered the space could look like the example below:

ree

Evermore (2020)

Evermore continues the mature, introspective vibe of Folklore, but with the introduction of warm colors and a more relaxed atmosphere. The album cover suggests a cozy, lived-in feel, reminiscent of industrial design, where structural elements are celebrated rather than concealed.

ree

An Evermore-inspired room would incorporate warm tones, rustic elements, and an effortless blend of comfort and utility. This space would feel welcoming and unpretentious, just like the album’s cozy, homey vibe. The image below is a great representation of what it would look like to put this space together:

Midnights (2022)

Now, we arrive to Midnights! The cover, shows a bit of minimalist for its simplicity but, the use of bold colors such as pale purple, a bit of blue, and a slight touch of sparkles, contrasting with the whites, create a luxurious and and confident composition that calls for a design that exudes glamour, sophistication and simplicity.

ree

A Midnight-themed room would feature using mainly whites, with pale purples and blue as accent colors, and including a bit of the warmth from the fire by adding a fireplace with neutral colors, creating a space that speaks simplicity but feels both powerful and elegant. This design captures the album’s minimalist luxurious vibe, making it the perfect setting for a midnight "rendezvous". And all this will lead to a result like this:

The Tortured Poets Department (2024)

The Tortured Poets Department taps into a dramatic and romantic vision, drawing inspiration from the Victorian era. The album cover hints at a gothic, minimalist aesthetic, honoring the timeless elegance of typewriters and the literary spirit of the past. There’s a sense of poetic tragedy in the design, but it's balanced by a deep romanticism.

ree

A room inspired by The Tortured Poets Department would embrace Victorian with gothic influences, combining deep, dramatic tones like charcoal and midnight blue with rich materials. Ornate wooden furniture would be paired with minimalist touches, such as stark black metal fixtures and exposed architectural elements. Velvet upholstery and candlelit corners evoke a sense of gothic elegance, while antique typewriters and stacks of weathered books pay homage to the romanticized writer’s world. See a glimpse of what this space could look like:

The Life of a Showgirl (2025)

Taylor’s most recent album, The Life of a Show Girl, bursts with bold, vibrant colors that perfectly honor the glamour of show business. The cover evokes old Hollywood elegance with sparkling, eye-catching details, layered over an abstract composition that balances everything with a refreshing aqua-blue tone. It’s dramatic, dazzling, and confidently theatrical.

ree

In design terms, this album translates beautifully into a space that merges Art Deco boldness with the elegance of Regency style. The sharp geometry and vivid palette reflect Art Deco’s confidence, while the asymmetry and refined finishes bring in that Regency sophistication.

A room inspired by The Life of a Show Girl would be fearlessly vibrant, designed for those who embrace the drama of the spotlight. It would feature bold color blocks, sparkling accent details, and a palette where aqua blues and fiery oranges dominate, highlighted by silver metallic tones for extra glamour. The result is a space that doesn’t just echo the album’s title but embodies its spirit: dazzling, unique, and unforgettable.
